Ingredients

• Má huáng (麻黄 Ephedrae Herba, ephedra)
• Guì zhī (桂枝 Cinnamomi Ramulus, cinnamon twig)
• Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root])
• Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger)
• Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome])
• Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum)
• Wǔ wèi zǐ (五味子 Schisandrae Fructus, schisandra [berry])
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
• Shí gāo (石膏 Gypsum Fibrosum, gypsum)

Actions: Warms the lung and transforms rheum; relieves cough and calms panting; clears heat.

Indications: Pulmonary distension, cough and counterflow qì ascent, vexation and agitation, panting, and water qì below the heart.

Notes: This is a variant of Xiǎo qīng lóng tāng (小青龙汤 Minor Black Dragon Decoction).
