Method: Slow boil to a paste in the sesame oil. Apply topically.
Rationale: The agents in this formula are divided into three groups: 1) Blood-quickening and stasis-moving agents: Táo rén, Hóng huā, Sān léng, é zhú, Chì sháo, Dāng guī, Dà huáng, and xueyutan. 2) Cold-dispersing and pain relieving agents: Fù zǐ, main Fù zǐ tuber, Cǎo wū, Ròu guì, Gāo liáng jiāng, and Wū yào. 3) Agents that free the channel and network vessels: Ròu guì and twig, Qiāng huó, Dú huó, Qín jiāo, Wēi líng xiān, Bái zhǐ, Wǔ jiā pí, Jiāng cán, Sū hé xiāng, and Quán xiē. In addition, Shēng dì huáng nourishes the blood, while Qiān dān resolves toxin and engenders flesh.
