Menstruation-Normalizing Decoction
顺经汤 〔順經湯〕shùn jīng tāng

Ingredients:
- Shú dì huáng (熟地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, cooked rehmannia [root]) 20g
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 15g
- Bái sháo (白芍 Paeoniae Radix Alba, white peony [root]) 15g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 10g
- Shā shēn (沙参 Adenophorae seu Glehniae Radix, adenophora/glehnia [root]) 10g
- Dān pí (丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 10g
- Jīng jiè (荆芥 Schizonepetae Herba, schizonepeta) (char-fried) 3g
Action: Nourishes the lung and kidney; clears heat and cools the blood.

Method: Use
Rationale: Shú dì huáng, Dāng guī, and Shā shēn enrich the lung and kidney, thereby counteracting the fire. Fú líng fortifies the spleen and stomach and prevents the Shú dì huáng from clogging. Bái sháo helps the Shā shēn to enrich the lung and kidney. With Mǔ dān pí it also cools and quickens the blood, preventing stasis. The charred Jīng jiè suì stanches bleeding, thus addressing the tip. Dāng guī, Bái sháo, and Shú dì huáng all nourish the blood and regulate menstruation.
