Ingredients

• Tiān nán xīng (天南星 Arisaematis Rhizoma, arisaema [root]) 60g
• Bái fù zǐ (白附子 Typhonii Rhizoma, typhonium [rhizome]) 60g
• Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 210g
• Chuān wū (川乌 Aconiti Radix, aconite main root) 15g

Actions: Dispels wind-phlegm.

Indications: Wind-phlegm entering the network vessels characterized by numbness and tingling of the extremities, hemiplegia, deviated mouth, and foaming at the mouth. Can also treat fright wind in children, and head wind or phlegm diarrhea in adults.

Dosage: 2g twice daily.

Rationale: This formula is similar to Sān shēng yǐn (三生饮 Three Raw Agents Beverage). It differs by having Bàn xià instead of Mù xiāng, and in the way it is prepared. It is made by grinding the agents in water and then sun-drying the sediment in order to reduce the toxicity of the agents.
