Three Raw Agents Beverage
三生饮 〔三生飲〕 sān shēng yǐn

Ingredients
- Shēng tiān nán xīng (生天南星 Arisaematis Rhizoma Crudum, raw arisaema [root]) 3–6g
- Shēng chuān wū (生川乌 Aconiti Radix Cruda, raw aconite main root) 1.5–3g
- Shēng fù zǐ (生附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Cruda, raw aconite [accessory root]) 1.5–3g
- Mù xiāng (木香 Aucklandiae Radix, costusroot) 3–6g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 3–5 slices
Actions: Dispels wind and transforms phlegm.
Indications: Sudden wind stroke with loss of consciousness, leaving the patient with hemiplegia, deviation of the mouth, and phlegm congesting in the throat. Tongue fur: White and glossy. Pulse: Sunken or hidden.
Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Tiān nán xīng dispels wind and transforms phlegm. Fù zǐ and Chuān wū warm the channels and expel cold. These three are all use raw to preserve the maxim power and speed of action. Mù xiāng rectifies qì, thereby helping to move phlegm. Shēng jiāng disperses cold, and counteracts the toxicity of Tiān nán xīng, Fù zǐ, and Chuān wū.
