• Bò hé (薄荷 Menthae Herba, mint) 240g
• Chì fú líng (赤茯苓 Poria Rubra, red poria) 240g
• Shí hú (石斛 Dendrobii Herba, dendrobium) 240g
• Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 260g
• Cè bǎi yè (侧柏叶 Platycladi Cacumen, arborvitae leaf) 240g
• Xuán shēn (玄参 Scrophulariae Radix, scrophularia [root]) 240g
• Lián qiào (连翘 Forsythiae Fructus, forsythia [fruit]) 240g

• Gān zhè (甘蔗 Sacchari Caulis, sugar cane) 500g

Indications: Red eyes, constipation, and hot scant urine.

Method: The rhubarb is soaked in rice water, sun-dried, steamed with the lotus root and sugar cane juice, steamed again with the other agents till black, sun-dried, ground, mixed with wine, and formed into pills.

Dosage: 4.5–9g swallowed with water.
