Chaenomeles Wine

木瓜酒 〔木瓜酒〕 mù guā jiǔ

Ingredients

Actions: Dispels wind-damp; quickens the blood and relieves pain.

Indications: Wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain in the sinew and bone with inhibited movement of the joints and limp aching lumbus and knees.

Method: The liquor should be a strong clear Chinese wine, with 50% alcohol by volume.

Dosage: 10–20 ml 2–3 times a day.

Rationale: Mù guā, Qiāng huó, Dú huó, Wǔ jiā pí, and Qín jiāo dispel wind-damp. Dāng guī, Hóng huā, Niú xī, and clear liquor quicken the blood. Mù guā, qiannianjian, sangjisheng[1] and Niú xī supplement the liver and kidney, and strengthen the sinew and bone.
