Wind-heat dizziness

风热眩晕 〔風熱眩暈〕fēng rè xuàn yuān

Dizziness due to externally-contracted wind-heat congesting the upper body. Wind-heat dizziness is characterized by dizzy clouded vision or spinning dizziness that brings the patient near to falling over, a constrained feeling in the chest, and vomiting.

Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind and clear heat with Saposhnikovia Sage-Inspired Powder (防风通圣散 fáng fēng tōng shèng sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on GV, ST, GB, LU, and LI. Select GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), ST-8 (Head Corner, 头维 tóu wéi), Hall of Impression (印堂 yìn táng), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), LU-5 (Cubit Marsh, 尺泽 chǐ zé), LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), and GV-14 (Great Hammer, 大椎 dà zhuī). Needle with drainage. For high fever, prick Ten Diffusing Points (十宣 shí xuān) to bleed.
