Wind diarrhea

风泻 〔風瀉〕fēng xiè

Diarrhea characterized by discharge of clear water, attributed to contraction of wind evil, and accompanied by aversion to wind, spontaneous sweating, headache, heat effusion, and a floating pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Use atractylodes (Atractylodis Rhizoma, 苍朮 cāng zhú) and saposhnikovia (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 防风 fáng fēng), or Schizonepeta and Saposhnikovia Toxin-Vanquishing Powder (荆防败毒散 jīng fáng bài dú sǎn) plus tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chén pí) and white atractylodes (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 白朮 bái zhú).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on GB, LI, CV, ST, and SP. Select GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), BL-12 (Wind Gate, 风门 fēng mén), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-9 (Yin Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán); needle with drainage.
