Visceral toxin

脏毒 〔臟毒〕zàng dú

1. Dysentery attributed to toxin accumulated in the viscera.

2. Distal bleeding (bleeding remote from the anus) due to accumulated heat toxin.

Medicinal therapy: Clear heat and resolve toxin with formulas such as Pig’s Intestines and Coptis Pill (脏连丸 zàng lián wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, ST, and BL. Select ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù), ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū), BL-57 (Mountain Support, 承山 chéng shān), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán); needle with drainage.

1. Hard painful swollen bleeding anus.

Medicinal therapy: Treat with Stomach-Clearing Powder (清胃散 qīng wèi sǎn) or Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction (龙胆泻肝汤 lóng dǎn xiè gān tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on BL, SP, and empirical points. Select BL-32 (Second Bone-Hole, 次髎 cì liáo), GV-1 (Long Strong, 长强 cháng qiáng), BL-35 (Meeting of Yáng, 会阳 huì yáng), BL-57 (Mountain Support, 承山 chéng shān), Two Whites (二白 èr bái), SP-5 (Shang Hill, 商丘 shāng qiū), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with drainage.

2. Anal welling-abscess.
