Source: Zhèng Zhì Zhǔn Shéng 证治准绳

Ingredients:

• Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) 30g
• Gōng zhū dà cháng (公猪大肠 Suis Masculinae Intestinum Crassum, boar's large intestine) 1 piece

Action: Clears heat and stanches bleeding.

Indication: Persistent bloody stool with sense of sagging distension in the rectum, but without abdominal pain or distress.

Category:

Method: Boil the intestine until is starts to disintegrate. Then pound it and mix in the coptis powder, and form into pills.

Dosage: 9g twice a day.
