Sophora Flower Powder
槐花散 〔槐花散〕huái huā sǎn

Ingredients:
- Huái huā (槐花 Sophorae Flos, sophora flower) (stir–fried) 9–15g
- Cè bǎi yè (侧柏叶 Platycladi Cacumen, arborvitae leaf) (stir–fried) 9–12g
- Jīng jiè (荆芥 Schizonepetae Herba, schizonepeta) (stir–fried until black) 6–9g
- Zhǐ ké (qiào) (枳壳 Aurantii Fructus, bitter orange) (stir–fried) 6–9g
Action: Clears yáng and stanches bleeding.
Indication: Damp-heat brewing internally with bloody stool; or bleeding from hemorrhoids with bright colored blood. Contraindicated in an enduring condition of bloody stool with qì vacuity or yīn vacuity signs.

- Severe large intestinal heat: Add Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb) and Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]).

precipitation of blood : Add Dì yú (地榆 Sanguisorbae Radix, sanguisorba [root]) and Xiān hè cǎo (仙鹤草 Agrimoniae Herba, agrimony). - Downpour of damp-heat: Add Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) and Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]).
