BL-35 Meeting of Yáng

会阳 〔會陽〕 huì yáng

Alternate names: 利机 lì jī, Crux Disinhibitor; 足窌 zú liáo, Leg Bone-Hole

Channel: BL, foot greater yáng (tài yáng) bladder channel

Modern location: An acupoint located on the buttocks, level with the tip of the coccyx, 0.5 cùn lateral to the midline.

Classical location: On either side of the tailbone. From The Systematic Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (针灸甲乙经 zhēn jiǔ jiǎ yǐ jīng)

Local anatomy: Branches of the inferior gluteal artery and vein. The coccygeal nerve.

Action: Clears and discharges lower burner damp-heat.

Modern indications: Diarrhea; bloody stool; hemorrhoids; impotence; vaginal discharge.

Classical indications: Menstrual lumbar pain; painful cold in the abdomen; intestinal afflux (cháng pì); genital sweating; leg pain.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.5‒0.8 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3‒7 cones; pole 10‒20 min.
