Turbid yīn failing to bear downward

浊阴不降 〔濁陰不降〕 zhuó yīn bù jiàng

Also turbid qì failing to bear downward. Breakdown of the spleen and stomach’s function of moving and transforming grain and water, whereby grain and water do not move downward normally. The main signs are glomus and oppression in the chest, belching and hiccup, nausea and vomiting, and distension and fullness in the stomach duct and abdomen. Other signs include heavy-headedness and cumbersome body, no thought of food and drink, and scant urine and sloppy stool.

Medicinal therapy: Unripe Bitter Orange and White Atractylodes Pill (枳朮丸 zhǐ zhú wán) or Stomach-Calming Powder (平胃散 píng wèi sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, ST, SP, and PC. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), CV-10 (Lower Stomach Duct, 下脘 xià wǎn), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-4 (Yellow Emperor, 公孙 gōng sūn); needle with even supplementation and drainage or with supplementation.
