Chest bind
结胸 〔結胸〕jié xiōng
A condition arising in cold damage when evil qì binds in the chest, causing pain below the heart with hard fullness that can be felt under pressure. It occurs when offensive precipitation is administered too early in greater yáng (tài yáng) disease and causes exterior heat to fall into the inner body to bind with water-rheum. It may also occur (without inappropriate precipitation) when greater yáng (tài yáng) disease passes to yáng brightness (yáng míng) and yáng brightness (yáng míng) repletion heat combines with preexisting water-rheum.
