Blood chest bind

血结胸 〔血結胸〕xuè jié xiōng

A yáng-natured cold damage pattern arising when blood ejection is incomplete and blood amasses in the upper burner. It is characterized by distension, fullness, hardness and pain in the chest and abdomen, generalized heat with only a desire to wet the mouth rather than swallow fluid, forgetfulness, black stool, and inhibited urination.

Medicinal therapy: Use formulas such as Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction (犀角地黄汤 xī jiǎo dì huáng tāng) or Dead-On Decoction (抵当汤 dǐ dàng tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on CV, PC, SP, and LR. Select CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), PC-5 (Intermediary Courier, 间使 jiān shǐ), and HT-7 (Spirit Gate, 神门 shén mén); needle with drainage.
