Supplementing the kidney to promote qì absorption

补肾纳气 〔補腎納氣〕bǔ shèn nà qì

A method of treatment used to address panting due to kidney vacuity and nonabsorption of qì using medicinals such as codonopsis (Codonopsis Radix, 党参 dǎng shēn), walnut (Juglandis Semen, 胡桃仁 hú táo rén), psoralea (Psoraleae Fructus, 补骨脂 bǔ gǔ zhī), cornus (Corni Fructus, 山茱萸 shān zhū yú), schisandra (Schisandrae Fructus, 五味子 wǔ wèi zǐ), and cooked rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 熟地黄 shú dì huáng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on KI, CV, and back transport points. Select BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), Panting Stabilizer (定喘 dìng chuǎn), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ); needle with supplementation and, if appropriate, moxa.
