Static blood abdominal pain

瘀血腹痛 〔瘀血腹痛〕yū xuè fù tòng

Also blood stagnation abdominal pain. Abdominal pain due to static blood that arises when persistent qì stagnation affects the network vessels. Static blood abdominal pain is a pain of fixed location that refuses pressure. The tongue is purple and dark, and the pulse is rough.

Medicinal therapy: Treat by quickening the blood and eliminating stasis with formulas such as Stasis-Dispersing Beverage (消瘀饮 xiāo yū yǐn), Blood-Quickening Decoction (活血汤 huó xuè tāng), or Infradiaphragmatic Stasis-Expelling Decoction (膈下逐瘀汤 gé xià zhú yū tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on SP and LR. Select SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), LR-2 (Moving Between, 行间 xíng jiān), BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù), and ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū); needle with drainage.
