Spleen vacuity vaginal discharge

脾虚带下 〔脾虛帶下〕pí xū dài xià

Vaginal discharge arising from splenic movement and transformation failure due to spleen vacuity (or liver depression and spleen vacuity), causing dampness to gather and pour downward and damage the controlling and girdling vessels. Spleen vacuity vaginal discharge is a copious, white or pale yellow discharge that is like spittle or snivel (nasal mucus) in consistency, and that flows continuously. It is attended by a pale yellow facial complexion, lassitude of spirit, no thought of food or drink, aching lumbus with a sagging sensation in the abdomen, unsolid stool, and in some cases swelling of the lower limbs.

Medicinal therapy: Fortify the spleen and boost qì; upbear yáng and eliminate dampness. An appropriate formula is Discharge-Ceasing Decoction (完带汤 wán dài tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, GIV, SP, and ST. Select GB-26 (Girdling Vessel, 带脉 dài mài), BL-30 (White Ring Transport, 白环俞 bái huán shù), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán); needle with supplementation and add moxa.
