Qì vacuity wilting

气虚痿 〔氣虛痿〕qì xū wěi

Wilting attributed to qì vacuity, arising when taxation fatigue or dietary irregularities cause damage to spleen-stomach qì, depriving the limbs of adequate nourishment. Qì vacuity wilting is characterized by weak wilting extremities and lack of strength to lift them.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the spleen and boost qì using Four Gentlemen Panting Decoction (喘四君子汤 chuǎn sì jūn zǐ tāng) combined with Mysterious Two Powder (二妙散 èr miào sǎn), or with variations of Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Decoction (补中益气汤 bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng) or Six Gentlemen Decoction (六君子汤 liù jūn zǐ tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Use the general points listed under wilting and add qì-supplementing points such as CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), BL-43 (Gāo-Huāng Transport, 膏肓俞 gāo huāng shù), SP-3 (Supreme White, 太白 tài bái), and LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān), needling with supplementation and adding moxa.
