Constipation arising when loss of blood after childbirth damages the fluids and deprives the intestines of moisture.

Medicinal therapy: Moisten the intestines and free the stool using honey (Mel, 蜜 mì), hemp seed (Cannabis Semen, 火麻仁 huǒ má rén), and Chinese angelica (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 当归 dāng guī). Do not use precipitants.

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on ST and SP. Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), and CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán); needle with supplementation and moxa if appropriate.
