Spontaneous sweating attributed to phlegm turbidity causing internal obstruction of yáng qì. In such patterns, spontaneous sweating is accompanied by phlegm signs such as dizziness, oppression in the chest, nausea, and ejection of phlegm drool.
Medicinal therapy: Regulate the center and transform phlegm. Use Fuuzhou Chuanxiong Decoction (抚芎汤fǔ xiōng tāng) or Qì-Rectifying Phlegm-Downbearing Decoction (理气降痰汤lǐ qì jiàng tán tāng).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, ST, PC, LI, and SI. Select CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), ST-40 (Bountiful Bulge, 丰隆 fēng lóng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ); and SI-3 (Back Ravine, 后溪 hòu xī); needle with even supplementation and drainage or with drainage, and, if necessary, add moxa.
