Food diarrhea

飧泄 〔飧泄〕sūn xiè

Food diarrhea results from spleen-stomach qì and yáng vacuity, or from wind, dampness, cold or heat invading the lung.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the spleen and fortify the stomach with Ginseng, Poria, and White Atractylodes Powder (参苓白朮散 shēn líng bái zhú sǎn).

Etymology

Chinsūn, to soak cooked rice in water; cooked food; supper. The character is composed of 夕 , evening, and 食 shí food.
