Fire depression panting

火郁喘 〔火鬱喘〕huǒ yù chuǎn

Panting attributable to fire depression obstructing the lung and preventing the diffusion of lung qì. Fire depression panting is characterized by hasty rapid panting, oppressed and confused spirit-affect, reversal cold of the limbs, and a sunken hidden pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Diffuse depressed heat. Use Free Wanderer Powder (逍遥散 xiāo yáo sǎn) combined with Left-Running Metal Pill (左金丸 zuǒ jīn wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LU and LR. Select Panting Stabilizer (定喘 dìng chuǎn), LU-7 (Broken Sequence, 列缺 liè quē), LU-5 (Cubit Marsh, 尺泽 chǐ zé), CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), and GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán). Needle with drainage. For exuberant fire evil, prick PC-8 (Palace of Toil, 劳宫 láo gōng) and LU-11 (Lesser Shang, 少商 shào shāng) to bleed.
