Enriching (and nourishing) the liver and kidney

滋养肝肾 〔滋養肝腎〕zī yǎng gān shèn

1. A method of treatment used to address liver-kidney yīn vacuity characterized by dizziness, upbearing fire flush, flowery vision, tinnitus, aching lumbus, dry throat, unquiet sleep, possibly night sweating, yellow urine, red tongue with scant fur, and a fine stringlike pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Use Lycium Berry, Chrysanthemum, and Rehmannia Pill (杞菊地黄丸 qǐ jú dì huáng wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, back transport points, KI, and LR. Select CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), KI-2 (Blazing Valley, 然谷 rán gǔ), and LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng). Needle with supplementation and add moxa.

2. A method of treatment used to nourish liver yīn by enriching kidney yīn, i.e., to enrich water to nourish wood. Compare enriching water to moisten wood.
