Enriching (and nourishing) stomach yīn
滋养胃阴 〔滋養胃陰〕 zī yǎng wèi yīn
Also nourishing the stomach. A method of treatment used to address stomach yīn vacuity patterns characterized by hunger with small food intake, discomfort in the stomach duct, dry mouth and parched lips, constipation, red tongue with scant fur, and a rapid fine tongue fur.
Medicinal therapy: Agents that enrich stomach yīn include glehnia (Glehniae Radix, 北沙参 běi shā shēn), ophiopogon (Ophiopogonis Radix, 麦门冬 mài mén dōng), dendrobium (Dendrobii Herba, 石斛 shí hú), and Solomon’s seal (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma, 玉竹 yù zhú).
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on ST, SP, and back transport points. Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and ST-44 (Inner Court, 内庭 nèi tíng); needle with supplementation.
