松萝 〔松蘿〕 sōng luó

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and bitter; balanced; nontoxic.

Actions and indications: Clears the liver, transforms phlegm, stanches bleeding, and resolves toxin. Treats headache; red eyes; cough with copious phlegm; malarial disease; scrofula; vaginal discharge; flooding and spotting; bleeding from external injury; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng); venomous snake bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g). Topical: Decoct as a wash.
