Properties: Sweet and bitter; balanced; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Boosts yīn and clears heat; moistens the lung and relieves cough. Treats vacuity following illness; internal heat from yīn vacuity; cough and vomiting of blood (blood ejection); dizziness; aching lumbus; seminal emission; strangury-turbidity (lìn zhuó); vaginal discharge; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and sores.

Production area: Most parts of China.
