Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and acrid; balanced.

Actions and indications: Stanches bleeding; clears heat; disinhibits dampness. Treats vomiting of blood (blood ejection); bleeding from hemorrhoids; bloody stool; flooding; bleeding from external injury; jaundice; strangury; child fright wind.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Grind and sprinkle on or apply mixed.

Production area: Sìchuān, Húnán, Guǎngdōng, Guǎngxī, Fújiàn, Táiwān, Zhèjiāng, Jiāngxī, Húběi, and Shǎnxī (Shaanxi).
