Ingredients

• Xī jiǎo (犀角 Rhinocerotis Cornu, rhinoceros horn)
• Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root])
• Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root])
• Mǔ dān pí (牡丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark])
• Táo rén (桃仁 Persicae Semen, peach kernel)
• Lú gēn (芦根 Phragmitis Rhizoma, phragmites [root])
• Lián qiào (连翘 Forsythiae Fructus, forsythia [fruit])
• Dēng xīn cǎo (灯心草 Junci Medulla, juncus [pith])
• Jiāng zhī (姜汁 Zingiberis Rhizomatis Succus, ginger juice)

Indications: stasis-heat in the blood aspect with high fever at night, agitation, spirit sometimes clouded and sometimes clear, desire only to rinse the mouth with water, but not to drink, and somber purple tongue. Pulse: Fine and rapid, and sometimes also rough.

Notes: This is Xī jiǎo dì huáng tāng (犀角地黄汤 Rhinoceros Horn and Rehmannia Decoction), which contains Xī jiǎo, Shēng dì huáng, Sháo yào, and Mǔ dān pí.
