Source: Qí Xiào Liáng Fāng 奇效良方

Ingredients

• Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome])
• Guì xīn (桂心 Cinnamomi Cortex Rasus, shaved cinnamon bark)
• Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root])
• Wú zhū yú (吴茱萸 Evodiae Fructus, evodia [fruit])
• Sāng bái pí (桑白皮 Mori Cortex, mulberry bark)
• Tíng lì zǐ (葶苈子 Lepidii/Descurainiae Semen, lepidium/descurainia)
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])

Actions: Clears and downbears lung qi; flushes phlegm and drains heat.

Indications: Rushing respiration, a disease pattern characterized upward rushing of qì and hasty rapid breathing, a lump under the left flank, heat effusion with aversion to cold, oppression in the chest, retching counterflow, and coughing of pus and blood. In severe cases, it can develop into pulmonary welling-abscess (fèi yōng).
