Four Animals Decoction
四兽饮 〔四獸飲〕sì shòu yǐn

Ingredients:
- Rén shēn (人参 Ginseng Radix, ginseng)
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria)
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root])
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome])
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel)
- Wū méi (乌梅 Mume Fructus, mume [fruit])
- Cǎo guǒ (草果 Tsaoko Fructus, tsaoko [fruit])
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 5 slices
- Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 3 pieces
Action: Harmonizes the stomach and disperses phlegm.
Indication: All forms of malaria.
Category:
Method: Equal parts of the first seven agents and half a part of mix-fried licorice. Grind to a powder and roast with brine.
Dosage: 12–15g at a time decocted with water.
