Sand Qì Elixir
痧气丹 〔痧氣丹〕 shā qì dān

Ingredients
- Tiān má (天麻 Gastrodiae Rhizoma, gastrodia [root]) 108g
- Má huáng (麻黄 Ephedrae Herba, ephedra) 108g
- Zhū shā gēn (朱砂根 Ardisiae Crenatae Radix, coral ardisia [root]) 108g
- Xióng huáng (雄黄 Realgar , realgar) 108g
- Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb) 185g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 140g
- Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) 90g
- Chán sū (蟾酥 Bufonis Venenum, toad venom) 27g
- Dīng xiāng (丁香 Caryophylli Flos, clove) 18g
- Shè xiāng (麝香 Moschus , musk) 9g
Actions: Dispels summerheat and repels foulness; opens the orifices and resolves toxin.
Indications: Abdominal pain in summer due to excessive consumption of cold foods and drink; cholera with vomiting diarrhea, clenched jaw, and counterflow cold of the limbs.
Method: prepare as flour paste or water pills.
Dosage: 0.6–0.9g once or twice a day. Can be used crushed and used an insufflation.
