Heat-Clearing Blood-Regulating Decoction
清热调血汤 〔清熱調血湯〕 qīng rè tiáo xuè tāng

Ingredients
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica)
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome])
- Xiān máo (仙茅 Curculiginis Rhizoma, curculigo [root])
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root])
- Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root])
- Xiāng fù (香附 Cyperi Rhizoma, cyperus [rhizome])
- Táo rén (桃仁 Persicae Semen, peach kernel)
- Hóng huā (红花 Carthami Flos, carthamus [flower])
- Yán hú suǒ (延胡索 Corydalis Rhizoma, corydalis [rhizome])
- Mǔ dān pí (牡丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark])
- É zhú (莪朮 Curcumae Rhizoma, curcuma rhizome)
Indications: Dual repletion of qì and blood with bouts of abdominal pain before menstruation.
Method: Decoct with water.
Variations: If there is heat, add Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) and Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]).
