Source: Dān Xī Xīn Fǎ 丹溪心法

Ingredients:

• Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 6–9g
• Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) 9–12g
• Niú xī (牛膝 Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, achyranthes [root]) 6–9g
• Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 6–9g
• Fáng jǐ (防己 Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, fangji [root]) 6–9g
• Bì xiè (萆薢 Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae seu Semptemlobae Rhizoma, fish poison yam) 6–9g
• Guī bǎn (龟版 Testudinis Plastrum, tortoise plastron) 6–9g

Action: Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; frees the channels and quickens the network vessels.

Indication: Scorching lumbar pain due to damp-heat, accompanied by bitter taste in the mouth, dry mouth, heart vexation, short voidings of reddish urine. Tongue fur: Yellow and slimy. Pulse: Soggy and rapid.
