Coursing depression and rectifying qì

疏郁理气 〔疏鬱理氣〕shū yù lǐ qì

Also resolving depression; loosening the chest; loosening the center. A method of treatment used to address qì stagnation due to emotional depression characterized by glomus and oppression in the chest and diaphragm, and pain and distension in the both rib-side and lesser abdomen. Medicinals that course depression and rectify qì include cyperus (Cyperi Rhizoma, 香附子 xiāng fù zǐ), Buddha’s hand (Citri Sarcodactylidis Fructus, 佛手柑 fó shǒu gān), lindera (Linderae Radix, 乌药 wū yào), and amomum (Amomi Fructus, 砂仁 shā rén).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on PC, LR, and ST. Select PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
