Cold heart pain

冷心痛 〔冷心痛〕lěng xīn tòng

Also cold reversal heart pain; cold heart pain. Fulminant heart pain characterized by pain in the heart stretching to the back and pain in the back stretching into the heart, or continual unabating pain. It may be accompanied by reverse flow of the extremities, generalized cold sweating, clear uninhibited stool and urine or uninhibited stool without thirst, faint breath and lack of strength, and a forceless fine sunken pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the kidney, support yáng, and disperse cold using formulas such as Ginger and Aconite Decoction (姜附汤 jiāng fù tāng) plus cinnamon bark (Cinnamomi Cortex, 肉桂 ròu guì). If there is also vomiting, Evodia Decoction (吴茱萸汤 wú zhū yú tāng) may be used.

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, CV and GV. Select BL-15 (Heart Transport, 心俞 xīn shù), CV-14 (Great Tower Gate, 巨阙 jù què), CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), GV-4 (Life Gate, 命门 mìng mén), and CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán); needle with even supplementation and drainage and add moxa.
