Yīn vacuity wilting

阴虚痿 〔陰虛痿〕yīn xū wěi

Wilting (wěi, weakness and limpness of the sinews) arising when enduring illness or sexual intemperance cause insufficiency of the liver and kidney and yīn vacuity with effulgent fire which damage the sinew and bones.

Medicinal therapy: Enrich yīn and clear fire; supplement the liver and kidney. An appropriate formula is Hidden Tiger Pill (虎潜丸 hǔ qián wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Use the basic treatments given under wilting, and add KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), KI-2 (Blazing Valley, 然谷 rán gǔ), KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), and HT-8 (Lesser Mansion, 少府 shào fǔ), needling with supplementation.
