Yīn protraction

阴纵 〔陰縱〕yīn zòng

Also yīn protrusion (1). A condition characterized by a tendency to erections of the penis of abnormally long duration (lasting hours or days) or swelling of the penis that gives the appearance of a partial erection. It is caused by liver channel damp-heat.

Medicinal therapy: Oral: Minor Bupleurum Decoction (小柴胡汤 xiǎo chái hú tāng) plus coptis (Coptidis Rhizoma, 黄连 huáng lián) and phellodendron (Phellodendri Cortex, 黄柏 huáng bǎi). Alternatively, use Bupleurum Dampness-Overcoming Decoction (柴胡胜湿汤 chái hú shèng shī tāng) or Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction (龙胆泻肝汤 lóng dǎn xiè gān tāng). In severe cases, use Three-in-One Qì-Coordinating Decoction (三一承气汤 sān yī chéng qì tāng). Topical: Make a decoction of impure mirabilite (Mirabilitum Non-Purum, 朴硝 pò xiāo) and schizonepeta (Schizonepetae Herba, 荆芥 jīng jiè), to wash and soak the affected area. If the swelling and protrusion is alleviated but a hard lump remains, treat with unripe tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, 青皮 qīng pí), combined with wind-dispersing medicinals.
