Wrenching-contusion lumbar pain

闪挫腰痛 〔閃挫腰痛〕shǎn cuò yāo tòng

Lumbar pain attributable to lifting heavy weights or to twisting or falling. Wrenched lumbus pain is characterized by the inability to bend and stretch or difficulty in turning, with any movement exacerbating pain.

Medicinal therapy: Quicken the blood and soothe the sinews. Use Four Agents Decoction (四物汤 sì wù tāng) plus peach kernel (Persicae Semen, 桃仁 táo rén), carthamus (Carthami Flos, 红花 hóng huā), cyathula (Cyathulae Radix, 川牛膝 chuān niú xī), cinnamon bark (Cinnamomi Cortex, 肉桂 ròu guì), corydalis (Corydalis Rhizoma, 延胡索 yán hú suǒ), frankincense (Olibanum, 乳香 rǔ xiāng), and myrrh (Myrrha, 没药 mò yào).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on BL, GV, SP, and ouch points (阿是穴 ā shì xué). Select GV-26 (Human Center, 人中 rén zhōng), GV-3 (Lumbar Yáng Pass, 腰阳关 yāo yáng guān), BL-40 (Bend Center, 委中 wěi zhōng), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), BL-32 (Second Bone-Hole, 次髎 cì liáo), and ouch points (阿是穴 ā shì xué); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
