Worm accumulation

虫积 〔蟲積〕chóng jī

Food accumulation due to worms in the digestive tract. Worm accumulation is characterized by yellow facial complexion, emaciation of the flesh, periodic vomiting of clear water or sour water, enlarged abdomen, and acute pain in the stomach duct and abdomen, sometimes specifically around the umbilicus. In some cases, there is a palpable accumulation lump. See worms accumulating the intestinal tract.

Medicinal therapy: Expel worms and disperse accumulation using Worm-Transforming Pill (化虫丸 huà chóng wán), Myriad Applications Pill (万应丸 wàn yìng wán), or Mume Pill (乌梅丸 wū méi wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points and ST. Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), Hundred Worm Nest (百虫窝 bǎi chóng wō), and CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi)mx; apply a strong needle stimulus and moxa. For palpable accumulation lump, needle at the head, middle and tail of the lump, and then burn 12 cones of moxa at the same three points; then moxa Glomus Root (痞根 pǐ gēn).
