Wind-cold dizziness
风寒眩晕 〔風寒眩暈〕fēng hán xuàn yūn
Dizziness attributed to contraction of wind-cold. Distinction is made between wind evil dizziness and cold evil dizziness.
Patterns
Wind evil dizziness (风邪眩晕 fēng xié xuàn yūn) is dizziness associated with headache and frontal pain, vexing joint pain, generalized heat, copious sweating, qì ascent panting, vexation and agitation, and periodic dizzy spells.
Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind using formulas such as
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on GV, GB, and LI. Select GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), GV-16 (Wind Mansion, 风府 fēng fǔ), TB-5 (Outer Pass, 外关 wài guān), GB-15 ((Head) Overlooking Tears, (头)临泣 tóu lín qì), TB-23 (Silk Bamboo Hole, 丝竹空 sī zhú kōng), and LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ); needle with drainage.
Cold evil dizziness (寒邪眩晕 hán xié xuàn yūn) is periodic dizziness accompanied by generalized heat without sweating, aversion to cold, hypertonicity, headache, generalized pain.
