Vacuity accumulation dysentery

虚积痢 〔虛積痢〕 xū jī lì

Dysentery in infants and children that develops when spleen-stomach vacuity dietary irregularities or excessive consumption of sweet or fatty foods causes a persistent accumulation. Vacuity accumulation dysentery is characterized by abdominal pain that likes pressure and tenesmus occurring any time during the day or night.

Medicinal therapy: It is treated by fortifying the spleen and boosting the stomach with Great Tranquility Pill (大安丸 dà ān wán) combined with Aucklandia and Coptis Pill (香连丸 xiāng lián wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LI, ST, CV, and back transport points. Select LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), Lǐ Inner Court (里内庭 lǐ nèi tíng), CV-21 (Jade Swivel, 璇玑 xuán jī), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), and BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù). Needle with supplementation and add moxa.
