Uplifting center qì

升提中气 〔升提中氣〕 shēng tí zhōng qì

To treat center qì fall. Center qì, i.e., spleen qì, bears the essence of grain and water (nutrients) upward to the lung, which ensures their distribution to the organs and all parts of the body. When center qì falls, there is enduring diarrhea, prolapse of the rectum and uterus, or inhibited urination. The classic center-qi–uplifting formula is Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Decoction (补中益气汤 bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on back transport points, CV, GV, SP, and ST. Select GV-20 (Hundred Convergences, 百会 bǎi huì), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), BL-43 (Gāo-Huāng Transport, 膏肓俞 gāo huāng shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), SP-3 (Supreme White, 太白 tài bái), and LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān); needle with supplementation and moxa.
