Taxation strangury

劳淋 〔勞淋〕láo lín

Dribbling painful urination brought on by taxation fatigue. Distinction is made between spleen taxation and kidney taxation.

Medicinal therapy: Spleen taxation is treated by fortifying the spleen and boosting qì, using formulas such as Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Decoction (补中益气汤 bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng) or Spleen-Returning Decoction (归脾汤 guī pí tāng) and their variations, whereas kidney taxation is treated by supporting vacuity and supplementing the kidney, using Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill (六味地黄丸 liù wèi dì huáng wán), and Golden Cabinet Kidney Qì Pill (金匮肾气丸 jīn guì shèn qì wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on the three yīn channels of the foot and on alarm and back transport points of BL (CV-3 and BL-28). Main points: BL-28 (Bladder Transport, 膀胱俞 páng guāng shù), CV-3 (Central Pole, 中极 zhōng jí), SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo) (moxa can be added at this last point).
