Stasis hiccup

瘀呃 〔瘀呃〕yū è

Hiccup due to static blood causing obstruction in the chest and diaphragm. Stasis hiccup is characterized by hiccup immediately after drinking and is accompanied by stabbing pain in the heart region and chest, mild yellow of the eyes, mild cold of the limbs, and thin black stool.

Medicinal therapy: Quicken the blood and transform stasis with Peach Kernel Qì-Coordinating Decoction (桃核承气汤 táo hé chéng qì tāng) or House of Blood Stasis-Expelling Decoction (血府逐瘀汤 xuè fǔ zhú yū tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on ST, LR, PC, and SP. Select BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān), CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with drainage or prick to bleed with a three-edged needle.
