Splitting of the anus

Splitting and bleeding of the anus due to blood heat intestinal dryness, dry bound stool, and straining in defecation. Splitting of the anus is associated with constipation, burning pain on defecation, and minor bleeding after the passage of stool.

Medicinal therapy: Oral: Intestine-Moistening Decoction (润肠汤 rùn cháng tāng). Topical: For new splitting with a clean wound, apply Flesh-Engendering Powder (生肌散 shēng jī sǎn) or Flesh-Engendering Jade and Red Paste (生肌玉红膏 shēng jī yù hóng gāo). For old wounds, use Alum Hemorrhoid-Desiccating Powder (枯痔散 kū zhì sǎn) to erode the wound, followed by Flesh-Engendering Powder (生肌散 shēng jī sǎn) to close it.
