Spleen heat copious drool

脾热多涎 〔脾熱多涎〕 pí rè duō xián

Copious drool in infants arising when congesting wind-heat causes phlegm to gather in the spleen. The drool is thick and foamy and is accompanied by inability to swallow milk and by vigorous heat [effusion].

Medicinal therapy: Clear the spleen and drain heat using Yellow-Draining Powder (泻黄散 xiè huáng sǎn) or Lophatherum and Gypsum Decoction (竹叶石膏汤 zhú yè shí gāo tāng).
