Residual screen

宿翳 〔宿翳〕sù yì

A screen scar left when any disease of the dark of the eye manifesting in redness, soreness, and aversion to light has abated.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement vacuity and drain repletion; brighten the eyes and abate screens. Use Abalone Shell Powder (石决明散 shí jué míng sǎn) as oral medication; apply Seven-Jewel Powder (七宝散 qī bǎo sǎn) topically.

Acumoxatherapy: Main points: TB-23 (Silk Bamboo Hole, 丝竹空 sī zhú kōng), BL-2 (Bamboo Gathering, 攒竹 zǎn zhú), Thumb Bone Hollow (大骨空 dà gǔ kōng), and Little Finger Bone Hollow (小骨空 xiǎo gǔ kōng). For repletion, add TB-20 (Angle Vertex, 角孙 jiǎo sūn), BL-1 (Bright Eyes, 睛明 jīng míng), and GB-41 (Foot Overlooking Tears, 足临泣 zú lín qì), needling with drainage and retaining the needles for 20–30 minutes. For vacuity, add BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), and KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), needling with supplementation (needles can be retained for 10 minutes).
