Qì stagnation delayed menstruation

气滞经行后期 〔氣滯經行後期〕qì zhì jīng xíng hòu qī

Delayed menstruation (lengthening of menstrual cycle) attributed to qì stagnation arising when depression and anger damage the liver, inhibiting qì dynamic and hampering the flow of blood in the thoroughfare (chōng) and controlling (rèn) vessels. Qì stagnation delayed menstruation is often associated with pain and distension in the smaller abdomen and breasts that refuses pressure. Menstrual flow is scant and disfluent.

Medicinal therapy: Move qì and resolve depression using Supplemented Lindera Decoction (加味乌药汤 jiā wèi wū yào tāng) or Sevenfold Processed Cyperus Pill (七制香附丸 qī zhì xiāng fù wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV and the three yīn channels of the foot. Select CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), KI-13 (Qì Point, 气穴 qì xué), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), and LR-5 (Woodworm Canal, 蠡沟 lǐ gōu); needle with drainage.
